the difference.

there's something about music that weaves in and out of life,
striking a chord that for the longest time felt unheard. unspoken.
and it makes all the difference in expression.

i don't want to fade in and i don't want to fade out.
i enjoy consistency, especially for quality.

i wish spring break was much longer than it was.
it wasn't the beach. missions. mountains.
but it was exactly what i needed, whether i fully realize that or not.

i love my family, but i'm not always comfortable with them.
which means that i'm being stretched for a reason there, right?
a reason why i'm uncomfortable which i need to brace myself to take.

i am not ready to have three kids under the age of six myself.
but i am excited to see what life beyond college looks like.

i don't take as many pictures as i used to.
but i think i'm putting myself in the memory more than before.
either way it's still captured, in still form or alive in your mind.

i wouldn't mind living in michigan one day.
with the condition that i own something with four-wheel drive.
i wouldn't mind living without anger and envy.
with the condition that i can still learn from experiences.

i am not called to be like anybody else.
but to be called to be more and more like Him.
i am learning more about myself each day.
while learning to love that newly-revealed part of myself.
slowly but surely, through frustration and patience.

i don't want to know the word impossible.
i don't want to care where you've been and where we're going.
but simply, let's go. let's do. let's be sent.

i can't sleep now, not like i used to.
i can't breathe in and out like i need to.

i want to say goodbye to apathy.
i remember hearts that beat.
i remember you and me.

i'm a new soul.
i came to this strange world,
hoping i could learn a bit about how to give and take.
but since i came here, felt the joy and the fear
finding myself making every possible mistake.
see, i'm a young soul in this very strange world,
hoping i could learn a bit about what is true and fake,
but why all this hate? try to communicate,
finding trust and love is not always easy to make.

i'm shaking off the rust.
i've got my heart set on anywhere but here.

spring is arriving full-force this time, i hope.
the dead of winter reviving and resurrecting many things, i hope.

and it takes no time to fall in love.
but it takes you years to know what love is.
it takes some fears to make you trust.
it takes those tears to make it rust.
it takes the dust to have it polished.

but i was caught in between all you wish for and all you need.
and for all i know, this could be the difference
between what i need and what i want to be.

You loved me because i'm fragile when i thought that i was strong.
but You touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.
i live here on my knees as i try to make myself see
that You're everything i think i need here on the ground.

all we are, we are. all i am, i am.
and every day is a start of something beautiful, something real.
praise the Lord for that truth.
