thursday was quite possibly my favorite day of 2008. something about it just made it beautiful. despite the weather, the gray, the monotony. i cannot quite put it into words, but the Lord made Himself stand out. in intentional one-on-one time. in spurts of conversation with long-ago yet always familiar faces. in cake and spinning and chai tea lattes and playing tag with kids. i am aware that i am working on quite a few things, with perspective and refinement the evident purpose of this semester. and i think that yesterday was my first real glimpse of me being me (after such a period of transition and confusion) but on a new, different level for potential. putting together the pieces of me, healing some brokenness and discovering the new. ...and i am excited. thank you, Jesus. may God's love be with you.
because when push comes to shove
you taste what you're made of.
you might bend until you break
because it's all you can take.
on your knees, you look up,
decide you've had enough.
you get mad, you get strong
wipe your hands, shake it off.
then you stand, then you stand.
