there is no one like our God.

i forgot how much i enjoy just being away from the clutter, the chaos of life by drowning into music and movies and cooking and rest and the Word. i forgot how much i have missed writing, with this blog and my journal shelved on the bottom of my priority list. i forgot how much i don't know until i'm faced with applying what i know. i forgot how easily my passions can fizzle when i harden my heart in the face of fear. i forgot how much this earth, this life is not the ultimate life worth having and how this is not my home.

"Father, meet me with your arms wide open
the world's done broken your prodigal son
down the road i traveled
everything traveled only came undone.

Father, lead me down to the river
wash me in the water 'til i'm whiter than snow
i know i'm not worthy
but tell me there's mercy for the wanderin' soul.

i lost my way but now i'm on my knees
if it's not too late won't You tell me please
You gotta place for me, a little grace for me.

Father, meet me in the cool green valley
in all of Your glory when my days are done
name me as one of your chosen
Heaven's unbroken prodigal son."

"and i'm chasing after You because you first chased after me.
and You purchased me with blood, i am free. i am complete."

"and i'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned.
in awe of the One who gave it all.
i'll stand, my soul, Lord, to You surrendered.
all i have is Yours."

"greater things have yet to come.
great things are still to be done."

"lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you."

"and how can i stand here with You and not be moved by You?
would you tell me how could it be any better than this?"

i'm delving into the heart of the matter in this season of my life.
what love looks like. all of its forms. a heart of flesh. abundant life.
loving God. loving others. selfless, sacrificial love. everything.

i'm figuring out what being a wanderer looks like.
and how i don't have to have all the pieces of the puzzle.
trusting the Lord for provision, for guidance.
just because i'm losing my life doesn't mean i'm lost.

the healing of rain to the broken earth.
beautiful imagery of what You're doing to me.
PRAISE THE LORD.
