the countdown is at three. three days of classes and only 6 hours' worth of finals. i cannot even believe that my second year in college is down to single digits, that this chapter is coming to a close. only two left for my college career. if life is coming by this fast already, i cannot imagine how much more the next two years will entail.
when i finally reach a standstill, i figure out how worn out i really am. all of the chaos, all of the running around, all of the chatter, all of the laughter--it builds up. and the magnitude of it all crashes in huge tides, wave after wave of emotion and impact. i can't handle it. not physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
but the Lord is good. so good.
"have you never heard? have you never understood? the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. no one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. but those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. they will soar high on wings like eagles. they will run and not grow weary. they will walk and not faint." [ISAIAH 28-31]
He promises to use us whether we feel useful or not. He will renew, rejuvenate us to do His work. even when we feel worthless, it is Him who gives us worth. because we are His and He is our One. the Lord offers so much--isn't that beautiful?
and the wonder of it all: He knows our needs better than we do. and when we think He's messing up our plans, He's actually straightening them out and aligning them to His will. i love that--it's hard but necessary. who knows better than He does? who loves us so much to promise that there is such good in all things for His purpose? seriously.
everyone: good luck with finals and the winding down of the school year. get geared up for summer. and remember, i love you a whole lot.
