some of my favorite moments from the past week have been outdoors. i like basking in His sunshine, taking a power nap with a dear friend or climbing a tree with a group of new and old friends. i like throwing around the frisbee and attempting to have one catch at the "box game." tulips are gorgeous--pictures are evident of that with andy. i can honestly say that i think spring is my favorite season.
i'm lacking motivation to be here mentally at school. i have a world lit test tomorrow and i would much rather think about the upcoming softball game or baking cookies. i cannot stay grounded in the present, much rather focusing on either the past or the present. the past? the lovely weekend in shawnee, the quality conversations i've been blessed with, the rays of sunshine from the beauty of nice arkansas weather. the future? next semester, this summer, colorado, the unknown of friendships/relationships. come what may, i guess?
i don't like being disappointed. i don't like setting my expectations too high. but is that settling? is that risking little and in return, being rewarded little? but essentially protecting myself, being hurt little rather than a lot. the murky gray of new experiences and situations makes me wish things were easier. but i guess that's the joy of living.
